Everyone knows that there is a link between obesity and diabetes. In fact, 80% of people with type 2 diabetes are obese. Both are key indicators of a possible insulin resistance and the only way to avoid this is to follow a low glycemic index diet plan.

Although there are many causes of obesity and insulin resistance, experts believe that a diet plan is necessary because of the overconsumption of refined high glycemic index carbohydrates. These foods cause a rapid rise in blood glucose thus triggering excessive amounts of insulin to be released into the pancreas to cope with the glucose.

Over time, this will cause the body’s cells to be resistant to insulin. When this happens, the pancreas won’t be able to produce this anymore which facilitates to obesity and increase your chances of heart disease.

The solution is the low glycemic index diet plan. In general, this means reducing our intake of refined carbs and sugary foods and substituting this with healthy carbs. You will reduce the amount of meat products and change these with wheat products, low fat diary foods, fruits, beans and vegetables. A study shows that cutting down will improve insulin sensitivity and together with exercise, can help you lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Since not everyone knows what products are low in glycemic levels, the best thing for you to do is to consult a dietitian. This professional can teach you how to live a healthier life apart from reading books and magazines that also offer similar advice.

The plan does not involve only what you eat but also how you do it. You must avoid leaving a lengthy time between meals because once your blood sugar levels are low and you feel weak, you may be tempted to eat foods that are not within the low glycemic index range.

You can’t eat just one type of fruit or vegetable because you will eventually get tired of it. You can prevent this by swapping them around or preparing it differently.

In summary, the diet plan is all about insulin and controlling your blood sugar levels. This can only work once you know which foods have a low glycemic index level which will provide you a steady supply of energy over the next few hours so you won’t be tempted to go for a snack in between meals.

When comparing plans, it can be a bit overwhelming. There are so many options and possibilities. Each claim to be better than the other. How do you know that the power line is the best plan for you? Here are some questions that can let you know exactly what.

1. Can this diet be part of your lifestyle?
Diets that you can’t see sticking to for the long haul are not going to work. If you can not see eating this way and doing the exercise prescribed by the diet for the rest of your life you probably should move on to the next option. If you try diets that you don’t see yourself being able to follow for the long haul you are likely to quit and gain back the weight you may have managed to lose, if not more.

2. Does this diet offer easy weight loss with little work or dietary changes?
Any diet that offers huge gains without any work should be avoided. It just isn’t the way it works. There is no magic pill, no magic diet that is going to have you losing weight if you don’t change any of the things you are currently doing. If you don’t change your eating and exercise habits nothing will change no matter what a diet claims.

3. Does this diet match your goals and preferences?
If the diet you choose is incompatible with your preferences and your goals you are not likely to stick with it. This will sabotage your weight loss goals as well as waste your money.

4. Can you modify the diet without affecting your success?
This is a great question for vegetarians and picky eaters. If you can’t modify the diet somewhat to fit your lifestyle without affecting your success you want to stay away from this diet as well.

5. Have you tried this diet before?
This is another important question to ask, and the answer can be interpreted two ways. You will ultimately have to decide what the answer means. If you have tried a diet before you need to look at how you worked within the diet plan. Did you follow the plan? Did you cheat? Really stop and think if you didn’t succeed with this diet because it was not right for you.

On the other hand it is imperative that you ask yourself was I really ready. It may not have been the diet that failed you, it may have been you just weren’t ready for the diet. Look at your thinking and your motivation. Were you ready to lose the weight? Were you losing the weight for yourself or for someone else? Only you can answer these questions, but realize it may not have been the program last time and this time it may be the perfect program for you because you are now ready.

6. How will this diet help you stay motivated?
It seems really easy to get involved in a diet, sticking to it is where it sometimes gets difficult. It’s very helpful when you compare online diet plans to make sure there is an element of motivation involved in the program. If the program offers some sort of motivational resources you may be more likely to succeed.

When it comes to taking the time to compare online diet plans it is best to know the right questions to ask to make sure you find the diet that is perfect for you. These questions should assist you in being able to find the best diet for you.

Raw food has become very popular these days for very good reasons. I will participate in several of them in this article. Raw food is a vegetarian who are not cooked, boiled or heated over 48 degrees Celsius, about 120 degrees Fahrenheit, degrees. Raw food can be classified into four main groups: fruits and vegetables, seeds of all kinds, bread and dried fruits, fermented foods and friendship with germs. In this article I will discuss how to start eating raw foods, raw foods for a healthy diet.

It is a known fact that since 1500 BC famous people consumed raw food among them you can find: Leonardo de Vinci, Russo, Hippocrates, Tolstoy, and many more. Today many famous people follow their footsteps and consume raw food as a healthier way of life and maintaining great appearance as a bonus.

Before we start consuming raw food we need to better understand the biggest advantage in eating living food. In one word: Enzymes. When the food is heated over 48 degrees all enzymes died and we loose their blessed work. Enzymes are created by our body to support it in some of the most crucial tasks our body performs. They help in adjusting the food and consume less food but enjoy better feeding. Unlike heavy cooked food which is less nutritious.

One of the most important side affects of consuming raw food is maintaining balanced body weight. This is not the subject of this article but over weight problems are well known: blood pressure, heart disease, etc. We can benefit from the following if we keep in normal weight: improved immunity system, better night sleep, higher energy, and better digestion system, avoid skin disease, less fat in your blood, and live longer.

Another important element is consuming the correct blend of foods without mixing wrong types of foods. It is important to avoid mixing of vegetables and fruits, sweet fruits and sour fruits, fat and fruits. The reason is that every food group is digested by a different enzyme. The mixing could relate to a swollen stomach and unpleasant heavy feeling and an urge to take a nap while you have just eaten and should feel a live and energetic.

I hope that by now you are convinced that consuming raw food could change your life for the better. But how should you start consuming raw food? Here are few quick tips on how should you start to change your diet:

1. Instead of taking foods out, start with adding raw foods to your diet.

2. Drink only natural squeezed juices. Especially green juice made from celery, cucumber, and green leafs. (Try cucumber, celery, green leafs, some ginger, and ¼ of lemon).

3. Start your lunch and dinner with a big salad. Add nuts and seeds.

4. Start eating nuts, almonds, and seeds as snacks. Or some fruit.

5. Start to remove slowly processed food. At start 20 percent raw and 80 percent not and slowly change the relation.

Please note that in time when you start consuming only raw food your body will start to clean all toxics and it could be accompanied by bad breath, gazes, etc. This is normal and a sign that your body is getting one step closer to a healthy clean state.

Please consult your doctor before performing any change to your diet to make sure your diet fits your medical condition.

I am a Combination of realistic computer science engineer and an autodidact of Health & Fitness. I have had gone through some medical situations and found out some unusual solutions to them. I would like to share these with other peoples. If I could improve even one person’s life I will be more that satisfied and considered my job done.
